InnovateHerLMS is built for children first. We collect the minimum information we need to run classes safely, and we tell you exactly who can see it.
What we store about students
For every student we hold only three pieces of information: their first name, their last name, and the username they use to sign in.
We never ask for, and never store, a student's email address, phone number, home address or any other contact details.
Why we store it
We store a student's name so her teachers can recognise her in class and give her credit for the work she does. Without a name, a teacher would only see a username and could not tell which pupil is which.
Who can see it
A student's name and username are visible only to:
- Her own teachers at her school.
- Her school's InnovateHerLMS administrator.
- InnovateHer staff who operate the platform.
No other student can see her details. No other school can see her details. We never sell or share pupil data with third parties.
The one exception: course-completion certificates
When a student finishes a course, her real name appears on her own certificate so she can share her achievement with family, teachers or future opportunities. This is the only place her name leaves the platform, and it only ever appears on her own certificate.
